Dental care in the United States is delivered mostly by private practices: a general or family dentist who handles exams, cleanings, fillings and crowns, and refers out anything that needs a specialist. Group practices and dental clinics put several dentists, hygienists and sometimes specialists under one roof, often with evening and Saturday hours. Most offices ask new patients for a comprehensive exam with X-rays before routine cleanings, which the American Dental Association recommends every six months. Prices are set by each practice, and most accept dental insurance (PPO plans more widely than HMO ones), CareCredit-style financing or an in-house membership plan for people without coverage. Emergency dental services take same-day patients for toothaches, broken teeth and abscesses, usually at a premium.

Pinellas Park is in Florida, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Pinellas Park follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. I was seen by a team of students and their professors. I received better dental care and info than I've EVER received in my 60 years! You must go. Adults and kids. You won't regret your experience with this dental school. All dentists should provide this level of care and they don't!

I've had my teeth cleaned at many schools across the country. In comparison with other clinics, this clinic felt rushed, and the level of treatment and care I received fell far below the bar set by other schools. I have several preexisting 'situations' with my dental care, which I am aware of; this school either did not discover those issues, or made no effort to bring them to my attention. They did discover two cavities, but made no effort to explain where my at-home practices fell short, or how I could better care for my teeth to prevent more in the future. Everything felt rushed, and although I appreciate the discounted cleaning, it's not what I've come to expect from facilities like this, and I'm not confident in the care I received.

I recently had a few appointments here for a root scaling/planing cleaning, after not getting a cleaning for many years with a typical dentist/hygienist. The regular dentist quoted me $800 after insurance, whereas the clinic did this, and x-rays for just $45 flat. Admittedly I was very nervous initially considering the low price and it being students. However, I could not be more happy with my experience. The students and instructors were nothing but polite, friendly, and courteous. I appreciated that they really took their time, and listened to my concerns. After my cleaning procedure, I left pain free and very informed. After just a week, my teeth and gums look more amazing than I thought they ever could. I actually had a much better experience with SPC than I have at any dentists office, ever. I highly recommend getting your cleanings done here.

I went and got a cleaning done by Staci, she was by far one of the best dental hygienists I have ever been to. The cleaning was so thorough and everything going on in my mouth was explained to me in a way i could understand! Even the doctor that came in to check everything was very nice and knew their stuff. I’m definitely coming back for my dental cleans and sending people i know over there. All of the other dental hygienist students were very sweet as well and so attentive. I wish i could give 10 stars! Keep doing your thing, Staci!

I had such an incredible experience at the dental clinic, if I didn’t know it was a learning environment of students, I would have thought I was just in a regular dental office. The treatment was extremely thorough, and everything was explained to me throughout the appointment. My teeth got A+++ care! The appointment was just over 3 hours, and so worth it for the price, the attentiveness, and care I received. Kristina was amazing and although still a student, my favorite hygienist I’ve ever had!!! Could have fooled me. She really knows her stuff, is super professional, kind, and fun. Excellent place, can’t wait to return. Thanks Kristina and crew!!!
